Homestay accommodation provides a unique opportunity for both families and international students to explore different cultures. By choosing to host a student you have taken the first step to a rewarding cross-cultural exchange and possibly a long-lasting friendship. The information on these pages are a practical guide for Brisbane families undertaking the homestay program. Looking after a new member of the family can be daunting at first, especially if they have a limited grasp of English, so we've provided some tips that will help to make your homestay experience successful.
Often students will remember their homestay as the best experience of all their time in Brisbane and your support during a student’s visit to a new country will be remembered and cherished long after they have returned to their home country. Each student is unique so a positive and flexible approach will go a long way. As a homestay provider, you are also effectively contributing towards promoting Australia.
It is our hope that the Homestay Information for Homestay Provider will assist you in hosting a QUT international student and, in turn, help the student adjust to life in Australia more quickly.
